Lee Manicke shows up at almost every Polson City Commission meeting, and often attempts to educate the city manager, staff or commissioners on the intricacies of the Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district or history of city ordinances. City officials sometimes welcome and sometimes bristle at his input.
But at last Wednesday’s commission meeting, Manicke was warmly welcomed and honored with the inaugural Polson Treasure Community Service Award.
The Polson City Commission dashed through a blizzard of agenda items during the first hour of its final meeting of 2023, earning the following praise from City Manager Ed Meece: “Fourteen items in one hour is probably a record.”
The Polson City Commission gave a green light to a preliminary plat for a 19-acre subdivision by Immanuel Living at Mission Bay during its meeting Nov. 20.
Despite some confusion over the write-in election for Polson’s Ward 2 in last Tuesday’s election, Lisa Rehard received 230 votes to David Coffman’s 121. Since neither name actually appeared on the ballot, voters had to write in their preferred candidates.
Two write-in candidates, David Coffman and Lisa Rehard, are seeking to represent Ward 2 in the Polson City Commission seat currently held by Tony Isbell.
