CELINA, Texas Four finalists have been named in the search for the next Celina Chief of Police. The city announced the finalists Friday morning.
Three of the four finalists currently work in Texas, while one candidate works in Florida. Celina leaders said they conducted a nationwide search that included more than 60 qualified candidates.
They narrowed their search to four people:
Brad McKeone, Deputy Chief of Police, Coral Springs, Florida
John Cullison, Deputy Chief of Police, Irving, Texas
Michael Skillern, Assistant Chief of Police, Houston, Texas
Ted May, Assistant Chief of Police for Methodist Hospital System, Dallas, Texas
Three candidates to fill the position as police chief had the chance to show the Paris community what they were all about during livestreamed interviews Thursday night.
Paris City Manager Grayson Path has announced who the three police chief finalists are, and heâs welcoming the public to their virtual interviews.
Path said he narrowed the list of candidates for the position to Brian Griffeth, city marshal for the City of Rowlett; Tony Griggs, retired chief of police for the City of Celina; and Richard Salter, special agent in charge for the Drug Enforcement Administrationâs Omaha Division.
On Jan. 21, the city will conduct a virtual interview at 5:30 p.m. for the community to watch, Path said. The city manager is seeking input from the community to assist him in making this decision. City residents are encouraged to watch at the city’s website, paristexas.gov, which will host a live stream video. The video will remain on the homepage for later replay, Path said.
A panel of six Paris residents has been formed to interview three candidates to fill the position of Chief of Police, City Manager Grayson Path said in a press release Wednesday.
The members are Joan Mathis, a retired English teacher; Jay Carpenter, a physician with Red River Urology; Chad Lindsey, operations manager at KFYN-AM/FM and KLOW-FM; Becki Norment, an internal medicine physicians assistant associated with Paris Regional Medical Center; Jim Noble, a retired business owner of Noble True Value Hardware; and Kenneth Webb, the Director of Student Life at Paris Junior College.
Chosen with recommendations from the Paris City Council, the panel will facilitate virtual interviews that will be available to the public online Thursday evening on the City of Paris website, paristexas.gov. It will be kept available on the website for those who wish to view it at a later date.
