Latino Network Names Tony DeFalco Its New Executive Director DeFalco replaces Carmen Rubio, who will be sworn in to the Portland City Council next month. Tony DeFalco Updated December 22, 2020 Latino Network today announced that Tony DeFalco will succeed Carmen Rubio as the group s executive director. The former executive director of Verde, a social justice nonprofit based in Cully, DeFalco is currently the board chairman of the Coalition of Communities of Color. He played a central role in the coalition that created Portland s Clean Energy Fund in 2018.
Latino Network announces next executive director December 22 2020
Community leader Tony DeFalco has been chosen as the next leader of the Latino Network.
DeFalco will replace longtime Executive Director Carmen Rubio, who is leaving the Latino-led advocacy organization in January to join the Portland City Council. Rubio was elected to succeed retiring Commissioner Amada Fritz in the May primary election after winning 67% of the vote.
DeFalco was selected after an extensive national and statewide search. He is currently the executive director of Verde, a community-based nonprofit organization, and the board chair of the Coalition of Communities of Color.
According to the Latino Network, DeFalco brings decades of experience in nonprofit management, fundraising, advocacy and coalition building across diverse sectors in the region and state, coupled with a deep understanding of the issues facing Latinos and communities of color.
