Project launched to display Greenhill Gardens floral clock

THE inner workings of a Weymouth s floral clock - one of only two in the country - could soon be on display to the public. The floral clock at Greenhill Gardens was built in 1936 by Richie and Sons of Edinburgh at a cost of £200. It is believed to be one of only two mechanically driven floral clocks still working in the country. The clock is arguably the jewel in the crown of Greenhill Gardens, which are adjacent to the promenade and Weymouth beach. The park is maintained by Weymouth Town Council in partnership with the Friends of Greenhill Gardens, and has won countless Green Flag awards over the years.
