A Kentucky employee for a medical laboratory was awarded $450,000 by a jury over an unwanted suprise birthday party that caused him to have a panic attack. The company, Gravity Diagnostics, later fired the man, identified as Kevin Berling, for allegedly being "violent" during a meeting with supervisors.
Kevin Berling asked his company not to have the party because it would stress him out but it did, anyway. Then he suffered two panic attacks and got fired.
