now we ve talked about corn and grain crops, but now the drought is threatening the nation s dairy supply. let s get right back to rob marciano. he s live in indiana. rob, let s talk about the livestock that supplies all of us with milk and cheese. is there enough food and water for them at this point? reporter: well, no. right now they have enough now but a lot of that is left over from last year which was a pretty good crop. what worries farm serious what s going to happen as we get towards fall and the winter. do they have enough to get these dairy cows through the winter. this herd, by the way, this farm south of indy, 500 dairy cows in this herd. a lot of mouths to feed. how much milk do they produce. check out the milking station. they can pump 20u9, 30 pounds of milk in about five minutes. they do that three times a day. they need lot of food and energy. this particular dairy farm has been around for well over 150 years. i spoke with the owner, a sixth again regulate
16-year-olds on this show. good morning, welcome to early start on this monday. i m ashleigh banfield. happy to have you this morning. i m zoraida sambolin. let s get started. tropical storm beryl making landfall in northeastern florida near jacksonville beach. it s packing a wallop, 70-mile-per-hour winds, torrential rain, more than 24,000 people without power this morning in the area. take a look at the pictures on your screen. that shows you the wind. the wind warnings, storm warnings all up along the atlantic coast from florida to georgia to the carolinas, putting a severe dent in a lot of the memorial day festivities. rob marciano has been pretty much up all night in the severe weather center watching all of this. things getting better tleels for now? well, the wind has died down but the rain is still coming. this event is far from over. at one point winds at 70 miles an hour, almost a hurricane. and some could argue that it was a minimal category 1 hurricane whe

month in february we added 233,000 private sector jobs. more companies are bringing jobs back and investing in america. and manufacturing is adding jobs for the first time since the 1990s. we just had another good month last month in terms of adding manufacturing jobs. and this facility is part of the evidence of what s going on all across the country. this company is about to hire more than 200 new workers, 140 of them right here in petersburg, virginia. so the economy is getting stronger. and when i come to places like this and i see the work that s being done, it gives me confidence there are better days ahead. i know it because i would bet on american workers and american know-how any day of the week. the key now, our job now, is to keep this economic engine churning. we can t go back to the same policies that got us into this mess. we can t go back to an economy that was weakened by outsourcing and bad debt and phony financial profits. we ve got to have an economy that s
