Today’s obituaries: Toni McCormick was a psychologist who mentored women

Toni Marie (Trunfio) McCormick, 69, of Manlius, died Sunday, according to her obituary.
She was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego, a master’s degree from SUNY Plattsburgh and a doctor of psychology from Virginia Consortium for Professional Psychology in Virginia.
McCormick was a clinical psychologist who practiced in Anchorage, AK and Virginia Beach, VA. In 1996, she joined Psychological HealthCare in Syracuse, her obituary states.
She was a member of the American Psychological Association.
McCormick was a mentor for women and loved to experience new places and cultures through extensive travel, her obituary said.
The service at the church in Exeter Township featured guest soprano Toni Marie Palmertree.
Palmertree, who grew up near Fleetwood, is a 2000 graduate of Oley Valley High School.

During a two-year residency with San Francisco Opera, she performed a wide range of roles.
âAfter my time in San Francisco, I moved to Allentown,â she said. âThere s an airport there. I get to stay close to my folks and travel worldwide.â
Palmertree had joined the roster of The Metropolitan Opera earlier this year for its production of Madame Butterfly, but the Met canceled its season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
