The army has tightened border control measures to prevent illegal entry of migrants and Covid-19 transmissions from neighbouring countries.
Army spokesman Lt Gen Santipong Thampiya said border military units are arresting migrants who attempt to sneak across the border into Thailand.
During an online meeting with military units nationwide on Tuesday, army chief Gen Narongpan Jitkaewtae instructed them to adopt maximum-level border control measures.
