October 2, 2022, Mary Jo Pelascini passed away quietly with her
children by her side after an almost three-year battle with cancer at
the young age of 69. She was born Mary Eggel on March 12, 1953 to

On Jan. 27, 2022, at about 3:42 a.m., a Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy on patrol in the Eureka area attempted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation near Broadway and Truesdale Streets. The vehicle failed to yield and fled from the deputy at a high rate of speed.
