JAC announced earlier this month it’s set to receive a $150,000 American Rescue Plan grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) with the purpose of helping artists recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Throughout the county, there are more than a couple dozen in the various towns throughout the county.
St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church in Humboldt sponsored one that was installed last week in front of the Boys and Girls’ Club in Downtown Humboldt.
Rev. Tommy Rhoads is a deacon at the church and said the church was glad to do this.
“I work in Jackson and have seen them meet needs for homeless or those just needing food in Jackson, and we’re glad to give a similar opportunity here in Humboldt in similar situations,” Rhoads said.
