Tommy s House, a faith based transitional living facility for women recovering from substance use disorder, closed temporarily, but is now back in service.
On Thursday, the Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting celebrating the reopening of Tommy’s House.
The facility can house up to five women who have graduated from a rehabilitation program for three to six months, as they to prepare to return to independent living, said Laura Monroe, the new director.
Originally from Coldwater, Monroe moved away for about 12 years before returning home. With a medical background, she is now working toward becoming a certified substance abuse counselor.
