Montgomery County keeping COVID restrictions in place for now
Much of Maryland will be enjoying a livelier atmosphere tonight as capacity limits within restaurants, bars and retail establishments are going away – but Montgomery County is staying back.
BETHESDA, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - It seems that pretty much all parts of Maryland are almost in line with the state after Governor Larry Hogan said he is lifting restrictions on restaurants, retailers, and other establishments beginning Friday at 5 p.m.
Areas like Frederick, Prince George’s, Anne Arundel, and Howard counties have all modified some restrictions to increase limits, but are not going as far as the state.

A press conference was held on Friday to discuss efforts to seek a temporary restraining order and an injunction against Montgomery County and other jurisdictions over their restrictions on dining. Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) agents announced on Dec. 2 that Jason Michael Walker had been arrested, after a grand jury indicted him on charges, including malice and felony murder, feticide and arson.
In the indictment, prosecutors allege that Walker killed Tommy Joe, Deborah and Melissa Wideman and Melissaâs unborn baby in March 2002 before setting their Turner County home on fire.
