Staff members at Tommie Kunst Junior High School successfully raised $1,340 for Cottage Children's Medical Center in Santa Barbara through a fundraising spin bike event.

He added that pending legislation at the state level could require schools to reopen by April 15 if a county enters the red tier under the Blueprint for a Safer Economy.
“To me, that says we need to have our ducks in a row and we need to be ready. And we need to know what the hybrid instruction is going to look like so that is a priority,” board president Linda Cordero said.
Educators have wrestled with constantly changing guidelines as they worked toward getting students back on campuses in some fashion.
“As we move forward, we’ve got to think about how do we build that adaptability into our system so that when and if we come to a fork in the road, we’re not stopping everything as we know it but we’re able to adjust and continue to provide access,” Ontiveros said.
