The $9,000 Auld Lang Syne at The Raceway at the Western Fair District on Sunday (Dec. 31) evening completed the 2023 card finale and the year at the London oval with Rye N Clyne topping the action off a pocket trip.
On Nov. 15, 2013 at Western Fair Raceway in London, Ont., Tomitta Bayama hit the winner’s circle, with Trevor Henry aboard, after leading all the way and holding on to win by a head in 1:56.4. It marked his sixth career victory, but it was also the pacer’s first of many wins for his current and longtime trainer Tom Hamm.
Darryl Laver trainee Santanna Tony posted the quickest victory of the four second-preliminary divisions of the Wilson’s Tack Claiming Series contested at The Raceway at Western Fair District on Wednesday (March 30).
The first five races of Wednesday’s card of racing at The Raceway at Western Fair District were dedicated to claiming pacers who did battle in the opening leg of the Wilson’s Tack Claiming Series, and favourites did quite well in their respective $7,000 assignments.
