An Indianapolis man has been arrested for shooting the mother of his child and killing four of her family members, including her 7-year-old daughter, following a dispute over the US coronavirus stimulus check.
The man, Malik Halfacre, 25, was arrested on Sunday, March 14, a day after the shootings, and is expected to face murder, robbery, and attempted-murder charges, according to the police and Indiana jail records.
After 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, police received a report of a person shot in a home on North Randolph Street. There, the police said, officers found a woman who was taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds. That victim told the police that there were additional victims at another home, also on North Randolph Street.

A day before Malik Halfacre allegedly shot his baby s mother, Jeanettrius Moore, and her family, he demanded to get the half from Moore. Moore worked all year at a beauty shop to provide for her two children, while Halfacre did nothing to help, according to a Crime Online report. He wanted some of Jeanettrius tax money, stimulus money, Wendy Johnson, a cousin, told Fox59.

By Rebekah Riess and Christina Maxouris, CNN (CNN) An Indianapolis man has been arrested in a quadruple homicide that followed an alleged argument over a stimulus check, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Officers were dispatched after a report of a person shot on Saturday night, according to a news release from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Police found a woman who had injuries consistent with a gunshot wound, the release said.
The woman, who was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, told officers there were more victims, the affidavit states.
