STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Movie theaters officially re-opened in New York Friday, and Staten Islanders patronized their preferred locations in the borough.
The Atrium and the Dine-In AMC Theater inside the Staten Island Mall welcomed intimate crowds of moviegoers to their locations throughout the afternoon, implementing social distancing and facial covering enforcement. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced last week that New York City movie theaters will be able to reopen March 5 at 25% capacity with no more than 50 people per screening across the state. And both chain and mom-and-pop movie house owners have gotten busy preparing to welcome moviegoers back to the theaters after nearly a year hiatus.
