Instagram Influencer Alexis Sharkey Strangled To Death, Autopsy Reveals

Social media influencer Alexis Sharkey, who was found dead on the side of a road in Houston last fall, was killed by strangulation, authorities announced Tuesday.
The cause of her death was confirmed by a spokesperson of the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences following Sharkey’s autopsy. The spokesperson also confirmed that her death has been deemed a homicide, Fox News first reported.
The 26-year-old Instagram influencer was found dead two days after spending Thanksgiving morning with her husband Tom. Her naked corpse was discovered by a sanitation worker in Houston who thought it was a mannequin.

The missing Texas-based social media influencer whose body was recovered in bushes on the side of a Houston road in November died from strangulation, a medical examiner’s office announced Tuesday.
Alexis Sharkey’s disappearance gained national attention after she was found dead on Nov. 28 on Red Haw Lane in West Houston about three miles from her home.
The 26-year-old woman’s cause of death was revealed in a statement by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences which ruled her death a homicide, the Houston Chronicle reported.
The report comes more than seven weeks since a City of Houston public works employee reported to authorities he saw feet in bushes along a street a day after Sharkey was reported as missing on Nov. 27 over the Thanksgiving holiday.
Her death has been ruled a homicide.
Sharkey was found dead on the side of Red Haw Street on Nov. 28 in west Houston. Her story has since gained national attention.
Her mother Stacey Robinault, who spoke with ABC13 reporter Steve Campion in December 2020, believes foul play was involved.
Two months ago, ABC13 started to receive several messages from concerned friends and viewers about Sharkey, who family members say went missing on Friday, Nov. 27.
On the morning of Saturday, Nov. 28, a City of Houston public works employee driving in the 1000 block of Red Haw, saw feet in the bushes, HPD detectives say.
The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences revealed Alexis Sharkey was strangled to death six weeks ago when her naked body was found dumped by the side of the road in Texas.
