Scotlands education secretary, john swinney, will present a plan today to address problems with the way School Pupils were awarded grades this year in the absence of exams. Yesterday, the first minister, Nicola Sturgeon apologised for the method used, where the marks given to pupils were based partly on the past performance of their schools.
