Now back in town, he’s jumped on a commercial property in Shockoe Slip. Earlier this month, Griffith paid $3.25 million for 1208-1212 E. Cary St., a 26,000-square-foot collection of four buildings that houses restaurant Sam Miller’s on the ground floor and offices on the upper levels.

McClure paid seller Matt Donlon $1.45 million for the roughly 4,700-square-foot building. “It’s every restaurateur’s dream to own the building they operate in, and I am so happy and proud to be the new owner of this Carytown landmark,” McClure said via text.

Harsh Thakker Richmond-based Dorado Capital, led by developer Harsh Thakker, is planning a dozen modern townhomes on just over an acre at 2705 Fifth Ave. in the neighborhood, also known as the Chestnut Hill/Plateau Historic District.
