Give us your general assessment of 2012 for the book industry especially when a comes to Nonfiction Books and what are one or two Nonfiction Books you want to talk about . Let me start by saying 2012 was a very eventful year in the Book Publishing world between publishers consolidating the department of justice, doing five publishers and apple on ebook pricing and later into the program, amazon expanding its publishing operations, the google settlement moving forward in different directions. I spent 28 years in congress as a staff member, first as a personal staffer for congressman john kasich. Then as a staffer for the Budget Committee, the House Budget Committee when he was chairman. I was the analyst for National Security affairs. In 2005, i moved on to the senate and work at the Budget Committee there in the same capacity. What do you think of that statement . Up close it is truly ugly. It generally is. I would want to temper that. It has been a long time have it habit of everyone to criticize congress because they think that resonates with the public. It truly has become to some degree a horror show because of the increased partisanship and polarization. However, it is an institution by the firstb list article in the constitution.
