Morning. How are we doing dale sal . We are okay. We have a couple glitches in the south bay where the rain or wet weather is falling. Its not so much rain as you heard steve say but its enough to slow the commute down. A 41 minute drive as you head out to the maccarthur maze. No major problems there driving to the bay bridge toll plaza you will see slow traffic at the bay bridge toll plaza. 2530 minutes. And we also have a lot of slow traffic you know once you make it on to the bridge but its not stop and go. 580 is a mess through the Altamont Pass. It stays that way through livermore and dublin and 680 heading south toward highway 84 we had a crash there and traffic is a big mess on this commute. It had started off okay but right now we are not okay there. Immerged some of the other commutes here. Traffic is going to be busy on the peninsula. Kentucky has been extremely well served with ben as executive director of the kentucky humanities council, and i want to thank him for sharing some of the anecdotes im going to use today. Finally, i want to thank chris and thend fred karam professors who have contributed in one way or another not only to my remarks today but to a series of speeches ive been doing on prominent kentucky senators over the past couple years. Are here to discuss the lives and intersecting careers of three men. Two of these three men helped define kentucky politics for much of the 20th century. Both serving as governor and as senator. Both were intensely and ambitious men both rose from modest origins. Both were democrats born in western kentucky. Both were accomplished athletes in their youth and fine coaches thereafter.
