The UK s largest free electric car charging network - installed across hundreds of Tesco stores - has now provided users with more than 10million miles of carbon-neutral motoring, new figures have revealed.   The supermarket giant, in partnership with Volkswagen and Pod Point, has been installing free charging points at 600 of its supermarkets across the UK.  And it has now been revealed that the partnership has provided its 500,000th free top-up. Pub landlord is ordered to take down £50,000 chalet

Advertisement A pub landlord has been ordered not to use his £50,000 chalet with a bar, pizza oven and TV to house outdoor diners because it breaks Covid rules.  Jason Kalen, who runs The Marlborough in Wiltshire, claimed the structure was safe because it had a one-inch gap in the ceiling for ventilation.  However, council officials pointed out that it broke established rules requiring at least 50% of the walls to be open to the outside.  Therefore, he has been told he cannot use the chalet until punters are allowed to host people inside again on May 17, although he still has other space in his garden to accommodate drinkers from next week.

Laurence Fox says paedophile is a meaningless insult

Laurence Fox has defended calling three people paedophiles on Twitter because it was as meaningless and baseless as them calling him a racist without any proof as he defended his right to free speech while hitting back at a new defamation lawsuit.   The actor is being sued by Ru Paul s Drag Race UK star Crystal, Coronation Street actress Nicola Thorp and deputy chair of Stonewall, Simon Blake, over a heated Twitter exchange in October. The trio had all called him a racist in tweets replying to his post accusing Sainsbury s of promoting racial segregation and discrimination and promised to boycott the supermarket chain after it promoted Black History Month.
