A woman is lucky to be alive after she was bitten by one of Australia s deadliest snakes.
The dramatic incident unfolded on Sunday afternoon just after 3pm when the woman, 27, was hiking with friends in the Karijini National Park, a remote part of Western Australia s Pilbara region.
The woman was attacked by a king brown snake, which has the ability to inject large amounts of highly toxic venom into its prey.
One bite from the serpent also known as a mulga snake can rapidly destroy blood cells as well as affect muscles and nerves.

A 27-year-old woman, who was bitten by a deadly snake Sunday while hiking in a remote area in Australia, was stranded for hours before rescuers could get to her.
The woman and her friends were in the Dales Gorge in the isolated Fortescue Falls area of the Karijini National Park when a Mulga snake, one of Australia’s deadliest reptiles, bit her on her leg. With patchy mobile phone reception in the area, the woman and her friends struggled to reach for help. According to 7News, the nearest town was more than 60 miles away.
