Taipei, Nov. 20 (CNA) Taiwan's Chen Po-yen (陳柏諺) won a bronze medal in the men's under-54 kilogram division at the 2022 World Taekwondo Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico, on Saturday, toppling quality opponents before falling to the world No. 3.

France’s Magda Wiet-Hénin and Italy’s world champion Simone Alessio were among those earning places in the Tokyo 2020 taekwondo competition tonight at the European Qualification Tournament in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia.
For the 120 athletes competing in this Taekwondo Europe event, from 39 countries, reaching the final is the pathway to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, with two qualifiers going forward in each of the categories.
The 25-year-old Wiet-Hénin, who won bronze in the women’s lightweight category when the last Championships were held in Manchester two years ago, secured her first Olympic appearance by reaching the under-67 kilograms final.
