The Edgecomb School Committee is searching for a new member. George Chase, who was elected two years ago via a write-in vote, notified school officials about his decision to resign. Chase is also Edgecomb’s code enforcement officer and a candidate.
The Edgecomb School Committee is brainstorming ways of educating voters about their $3.76 million Fiscal Year 25 budget proposal. The committee presented its draft to Edgecomb Budget Committee members on Feb. 28. The draft included a 10.07% spending.
Chairman Heather Sinclair called the draft Edgecomb School Committee budget “the best worst option.” The committee held a budget workshop Feb. 12 in hopes of finalizing a recommended school budget for Fiscal Year 25 and to explain their fiscal.

Last year, Edgecomb Eddy’s after-school program was a success. It started as a two-week pilot program providing a community service for students and parents. Three days per week, students had a place to go after school under the supervision of staff.
