During the spring months, it s not uncommon to run across a swarm of bees clinging to a tree, fence, shopping cart or any other readily available surface.
In light of that, beekeepers want the community to know how to properly respond to honey bee swarms and know why the swarms are occurring.
Dru Spinnuzi is the 2021 Swarm Commander for the Pueblo County Beekeepers Association, and has dozens of hives throughout the county, including one in her own backyard. She noted that although there were not a lot of swarm calls last year, she s hoping for more this year.
