From left Associate headteacher Natalie Wilcox, Abi Swatton, Tom Killigrew, Hope Baughan, Harriet and Finley Blackett, Ellie Jefferies, Stuart Smith and Helenna Baughan-Smith STUDENTS at Yate Academy have joined forces with teachers and parents to complete a mammoth distance in memory of Captain Sir Tom Moore. The team are aiming to complete a charity walk of over 10,747 kilometres by Friday to raise money for the Captain Tom Foundation in memory of the hero that raised over £32 million last year for the NHS. The distance is the equivalent of walking from Yate to Myanmar (previously known as Burma), where Captain Sir Tom was stationed during the second world war. The school community are hoping to raise £1000 for The Captain Tom Foundation.
