There was some positive news for Wicklow swimmers who enjoy using the amenity known as The Cove in Greystones, as the process needed to see it approved as Designated Bathing Area (DBA) is under way.
Wicklow TD Jennifer Whitmore has criticised the disruption to DART and rail services over the bank holiday weekend, after Irish Rail advised that there will be no service to Bray or Greystones for the February and Easter bank holidays, as well as another weekend this month.

The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has confirmed that it has received a Preliminary Business Case for the Bray Harbour Improvement Scheme from Wicklow County Council. The project is set to cost an estimated €9.5m to deliver and the Department has preliminary allocated over €7m to assist in the delivery of the project with the balance to be bridged by Wicklow County Council.
