Commissioners serve four-year terms and are not term-limited. A primary election, held on June 14, narrowed the field from eight to the current six candidates.
New County Commission member Mark Rustad, whose slim victory also will be recounted, has been against the home rule proposal. He said that going forward, “I would treat (home rule) like a home protection device - I hope to never pull the trigger.”
