The road signs dictated you could only turn right out of Barnet s training ground, but Edgar Davids would point his car down the bus lane. He incurred fines for turning left each day but, for him, traffic restrictions in north London were merely suggestions. It was the quickest way home.
Barnet s director of football at the time, Paul Fairclough, knew such behavior was typical of Davids. He s his own person. No one s going to tell him what to do.
Davids launched his managerial career in October 2012 with an aim to improve technical play throughout English football. The fact that he was player-manager of fourth-tier Barnet - a club that had spent 107 years of its 124-year existence outside the country s professional leagues - was just another roadblock he could ignore. He was confident he d make an impression.

Covid-19 caused a significant jump in the US death rate in the second quarter of 2020
The age-adjusted all-cause mortality rate was 769 per 100,000 in the first quarter of 2020 and rose to 840 in the second quarter of the year. Comparatively, the death rate for the second quarter of 2019 was 702 per 100,000.
The report shows that mortality rose significantly in 2020, but it’s an incomplete snapshot of the pandemic since data for only the first two quarters of 2020 are currently available.

Donald Trump Is Most Likely To Flee To United Arab Emirates, Columnist Says
In a piece for
Maclean s published on Monday, columnist Shannon Gormley claimed that Donald Trump is most likely to flee to the United Arab Emirates should he decide to take refuge in another country after leaving the White House.
The writer argued that the country which the president signed a last-minute multi-billion-dollar weapons deal with is a tax haven and noted that it has no extradition treaty with the United States. If Trump faced any charges after his presidency comes to an end, he would be protected in the UAE.
