A white female in her mid to late 40s was shot and killed by metro swat this afternoon after a standoff that started around 11 this morning. Metro crises negotiators established contact with the woman who made it very clear she would shoot at any officers that would approach her. Police responded to a call this morning just before 6 am of a suicidal woman. A Crisis Negotiation Team went to the scene to try to convince the woman to comply with police. The woman refused and later came out of the house with a shotgun. She attempted to shoot herself by putting the gun below her chin but she could not pull the trigger. She then turned the gun towards the officers. At that time she raised the shotgun and pointed it at the officers nearby. At which time two of our swat snipers fired.
