LAFAYETTE, Ind. The walls at nearby businesses shook from the force of Monday morning s explosion inside Indy Scale at 35353 Coleman Court.
Britney Adams works in the factory across the street from Indy Scale and heard the loud noise about 10:18 a.m. Monday. Since they were expecting deliveries, she chalked the noise up to a semi driver hitting something while trying to back into the loading dock.
It s happened before, she said.
The Indy Scale s blast sparked a fire that consumed the metal building and sent the one man inside Indy Scale to the hospital with burns, said Jared Scaggs, who owns neighboring Peerless Patterns and knows the man who was injured.
