You know, weve noticed it getting colder even in e the last couple of hours. When i got in the news van this morning, this wind wasnt here. Now were feeling the wind in downtown brooklyn. Behind me there are a few peek walking here outside the atlantic avenue station. But all of those people are wrapped up in as many layers as possible. And the mayor says folks should be doing that wearing as many layers as possible. We know hes having a press conference later this morning about this winter weather. We know hes issued a code blue to try to get homeless folks off the street. And you can see some people here are waving to me off camera trying to make the best of this weather. We did speak to some folks before the show started about what theyre doing as this cold weather sets in. I put on an extra layer of pants. I put on a hoodie, a sweatshirt. And im moving fast. It is a chilly start to the morning. It was chilly yesterday. Were more accustomed to it. Todays forecast will be similar to yesterday except for one detail. Ill tell you more about that in a second. Modtly cloudy a 2 43 degrees right now. As we head through the afternoon, well see a few peeks of sunshine, especially around noon. 49 degrees at that point. 3 00 it will be 53. The cloud deck will lower and thicken farther into the day. Thats the big change. We had lots of sunshine yesterday. Today well see a lot more cloud cover. Today, 39 degrees in danbury. 40 down in toms river and 43 degrees in both morristown and central park. Heres a look at that forecast with the peeks of sun around noon. This is ignacio, a category three storm. It will stay well north of hawaii but Hurricane Hunters have pictures from the center of the storm. We had some of those eye wall pictures of the storm. They were incredible. That storm will weaken. Here they are. This is right in the center. This is the eye where you can see the sky and the eye wall with the intense winds. Incredible stuff from the Hurricane Hunters. This is no threat to land. If anything well see 20foothigh seas in hawaii. Great for surfers but no wind or heavy rain. Just Tropical Stormlike rainshowers. In the rest of the country from the plains to the midwest, over to the east, we have a big area of high pressure, the ridge in the jet stream.
