refused to endorse christie in his gubernatorial re-election. joining me, joe johns, cnn s crime and justice correspondent. i know you have been looking over some 900-plus documents just uploaded online. what did you find? we re just making our way through these documents and there are a lot of them. there s a lot of detail about here s one, the reallocation of toll lanes at the george washington bridge. this is sort of a study that came as the result of changes in traffic patterns that made so many people angry. report paints a picture of the level of widespread anger. there s an e-mail in here that says fort lee police chief called it a monumental failure. and one of the things that s very clear is the test, the down sides of the test absolutely outweighed the benefit. something like 2,800 vehicle hours of delay, this report says. now, there s an e-mail we found
responders were delayed. there were questions whether the gridlock was politically motivated payback for the democrat mayor of fort lee. cnn obtained text and e-mails that seemed to be the closest thing to a smoking gun. it was sent august 13th. a message from the e-mail account of bring jet ann kelly one of the governor s top appointees at the agency that controls the bridge. when the mayor called about the gridlock, kelly then e maled to see if anyone has called him back. the official excuse, a traffic stud reviewing safety patterns for toll lanes. christie later denied his office was involved in the bridge problem. you really are not serious

san francisco s famed golden gate bridge. every toll on the span is now electronic. so that means drivers handed over flowers as well as cash to those toll takers on their last day of work, which was yesterday. officials say the move will save $2 million a year by eliminating 28 jobs. some drivers worry that traffic will stop moving as confused motorists attempt to pay while driving through the toll lanes. an unusual guest found his way into a five-star resort in southern california. a rescue cue from sea world was called to the hotel after this little guy, malnourished and dehydrated california sea lion decided he needed a little rest and relaxation. human guests didn t seem to mind. the sea lion remained relaxed until the net squad showed up. the pup is resting comfortably at sea world this morning. we hope he s doing better. it s a long way from the glory days for grammy winner diane warwick. the big challenge the singer is now facing. and call him the comeback kid.
country. we re zooming all the way in now to dallas, texas. and the project there, kyra, $250 million to fix up one stretch of road that s going to have 24 lanes on it. now, i could tell you about it but i m lucky i have an expert here because my producer here, rachel, is actually from dallas and knows a lot more than i do so talk to us. this stretch of road, what s it about and why is it so important? it s $250 million of stimulus money. it s about 8.4 miles. most people are going to dfw airport have to take this stretch of road. if you re trying to get to the airport at a bad time, all you re going to see is brake lights. it s a major headache. i m sure it s caused a lot of people to miss their flights. reporter: so anybody in dallas will know this road. one more quick thing that s interesting. they re taking the stimulus money but also still charging a toll on the road. what s that about? four of those lanes are going to be toll lanes, so people it s causing some controversy
