Local authorities have launched a series of operations to clamp down on an illegal trend that involves unruly motorists tailgating legitimate toll users going through the toll booths to avoid payments.
Police said recently a total of seven people were arrested following complaints from the Toll Authority of Jamaica about the practice.
Reports are that the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) of the police force conducted several targeted operations in St Catherine on Saturday, June 12, and the seven alleged offenders were arrested and charged.
They have been identified as:
1. Oswayne Johnson of Banbury district, Linstead in St Catherine, who was arrested on 14 counts of breaching the toll system in May 2021.
