Two people were moderately injured after a tractor and car crash in Southland on Tuesday. A police spokeswoman said the crash happened on the Tokanui-Gorge Road Hwy, near Holz Rd, about 7.50pm. The crash was near the Mataura River, about five kilometres south of the Gorge Road township.

The chair of Ngāti Maniapoto Māori Trust Board says the tribe’s historic claims settlement is a chance to reset its relationship with the crown.
