yes. what? reporter: north korea, however, called the movie an act of war and promised a merciless countermeasure after the trailer s release in june. now someone has hacked into sony pictures that produced the movie. sony is actively investigating a link to a hacking attack that was carried out last monday. reporter: as recode first reported, hackers attacked in waves. first crippling sony s internal systems, then leaking five sony movies online, four of which like annie have not been released. light em up! reporter: together the pirated sony movies have been downloaded more than 2 million times. this hack attack is hugely embarrassing for sony because sony is the only movie studio that s owned by a technology company. reporter: sony pictures acknowledges the hack saying in part we are working closely with law enforcement to address it. that includes the fbi. and according to a senior u.s. official, several additional law enforcement agencies all looking
