Mexico School District budget shows slight deficit, but district has plenty in reserve

Mexico School District budget shows slight deficit, but district has plenty in reserve Published by admin on Thu, 07/08/2021 - 5:50pm By:  Editor For fiscal year 2022, the Mexico School District expects a 2 percent increase in revenue. But they also anticipate expenses to jump by 8 percent. Because the schools have built up a healthy reserve, however, the administrators believe the district is in sound financial shape. The projected budget for fiscal 2022 calls for revenue of $28.6 against expenditures of $30.4 million. District reserves will easily cover the remaining amount. Federal allocations of $5.5 million and up to $7.3 million in pandemic-related relief funds are also available.
