Multicultural group launches new employment service in Huron, Perth

Article content After more than a decade helping newcomers secure employment across Perth and Huron counties, the Multicultural Association of Perth Huron is officially launching a new paid service that will connect employers with newcomers and other vulnerable community members in need of work, and help them navigate and resolve issues in the workplace. With funding through the Canada Summer Jobs program and Employment and Social Development Canada, multicultural association founder Dr. Gezaghn Wordofa has stepped into the role of executive director for the newly established Multicultural Community Services. Along with a small team comprising a lawyer, a human resources specialist, an accountant and client co-ordinators, Wordofa and Multicultural Community Services will soon begin taking on paid contracts with local employers looking to fill positions.
