This is the office that manages the hoover dam. Law enforcment sources indicate that one focus of this probe is a contract to manage the sale of electricity from the dam. The 30 Year Contract expires in 2017 so an Audit Committee was set up to review the operation. The contract to conduct that audit was worth about a Million Dollars. The person who chaired that Audit Committee worked in this same bureau office. His name is frederick leavitt, but he goes by rick. This is his home in henderson and it too was visited by agents this morning. They were seen carting material out of the house. Leavitt has worked for the bureau of reclamation since 1993 but he also runs an Accounting Firm out of his home. Wounds after he says shots were fired out of a car. He was center. We dont know if this shooting was random or if the victim was targeted. I talked with a seventeen year old who lives here. He says he helped the victim who ran down the street. After he was shot. Todays string of violence began around 3 00 this afternoon at a home near twain and boulder. Property managers received word that someone was in a house that wasnt supposed to be there. A man and a woman who live in the home went to investigate and found an unknown man in his twenties in the home. There was a fight. Police say the homeowner was times. Thats when the property manager shot the suspect. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. Detectives are working to confirm if this was an act of self defense.
