Purdy Elementary School is planning to open a full-time preschool that will allow more youngsters to enroll in class before kindergarten, give the school district additional enrollment opportunities.

No change for school board president, vice president
Leadership at Purdy schools has not changed following the April 6 election.
The Purdy School Board voted unanimously Monday to retain Todd Schallert as school board president and Ken Terry as vice president.

The school board also certified the election results, officially naming Terry and Ruben Henderson the winners of the election, administering the oath of office for Terrys fifth term and Hendersons second term.

Travis Graham takes the helm July 1
Purdy has a new superintendent taking the helm July 1 following the resignation of Mindi Gates, who will be returning to her hometown school in Cassville next year.
Purdy School Board of Education President Todd Schallert introduced Travis Graham as the districts 2021-2022 Superintendent at a special staff meeting on March 22.
We are so happy to welcome Dr. Graham and his family, not only to the school, but to the community, Schallert said. Dr. Graham brings a wealth of diverse educational experience to the position. Gates accepts position in Cassville, leaving vacancy
The Purdy school district is on the hunt for a new superintendent following the resignation of Mindi Gates.
Gates announced that she will be taking a position as elementary principal in her hometown of Cassville, where she graduated high school and began her teaching career. She will remain on in Purdy through the school year, with her last day scheduled for June 30.
Gates began her tenure at Purdy in August 2013, serving as an instructional coach, working with teachers and principals on curriculum and professional development and serving as a mentor to teachers with less than 10 years of experience.
