Whether you moved here recently, or several years ago, Bend 101 is dedicated to connecting you with the information and resources to engage and thrive in the place where you live. You'll meet both new and longtime residents and make meaningful relationships. The next session of Bend 101 at the Tetherow Pavilion on Thursday, July 7, at 5:30 pm for an exciting evening of community engagement and education. Our night will be spent getting to know the roots of our beloved city, how it has grown to what we see today, and how we can all contribute to a thriving society in the future. There will be time to socialize and indulge in bites, beverages, and incredible views on the patio overlooking the Tetherow Golf Course and Cascade Mountains. Our seasonal summer program will emphasize how water usage and allocation impact our community, as well as how fire and smoke challenges can be more effectively

Ceremony For New Bend Fire Ladder Truck

Bend Fire & Rescue is placing its new Pierce Ladder Truck into service next week and is inviting the community to attend the celebration and ceremony. This 107-foot ladder truck will respond to calls in the City of Bend, the Rural Fire District, and surrounding communities when needed. It will be replacing the current American La France ladder truck which has been seen service for over 19 years and has reached the end of its service life. "We are excited to place our new ladder truck into service." States Fire Chief Todd Riley. "This new aerial will meet the changing needs of our fast-growing community that is seeing more vertical buildings than ever before." This traditional fire service ceremony will take place on Tuesday June 28th at 2pm at the North Station located at 63377 NE Jamison St.

Bend Welcomes New Fire Marshal

Bend Fire & Rescue is excited to welcome Jason Bolen as the new Fire Marshal. "I am thrilled to be working for Bend Fire & Rescue" says Chief Bolan "and finding opportunities to immerse myself in the community of Bend". Chief Bolen came from Lebanon Fire District where he was Division Chief of Fire & Life Safety for six year. Jason started his fire service career as a volunteer with Lebanon Fire in 1994 and was hired as a Firefighter/EMT in 1996. He worked his way up the ranks from firefighter to Battalion Chief before being promoting to Division Chief. During his career he was heavily involved in rescue and fire command training. Community involvement is very important to Chief Bolen. He served on the Lebanon City Council for 10 years and was the Council President for his final 4 years of his council tenure.
