Heading into the new year, Sussex County Council will take another look at its code of conduct. Several residents questioned ethics and conflicts of interest of some of the candidates during this year's Republican primary But that's nothing new.
During the recent election, several residents questioned Sussex County’s code of ethics, and suggested the county should have its own code. Currently, the county follows the state’s code of conduct, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Public.
The Sussex County Council this week agreed to continue referring ethics and code of conduct matters to the state’s Public Integrity Commission, and to not form its own conduct-review entity.
