Chapman Surprises Himself With Big Day 1

By MLF Communications Staff Brent Chapman caught 21 bass totaling 46-02 to grab the early lead in Qualifying Group A on day 1 of the Lake Travis MLF Bass Pro Tour event in Texas. The six-day event, hosted by the Austin Sports Commission, features 80 of the top professional anglers from around the world competing for a purse of $805,000, including a top cash prize of $100,000 to the winner.
Chapman will take a 5-06 lead into Sundays second day of competition for Group A. In 2nd place on the ScoreTracker leaderboard is Mark Rose, who has eight career victories including a Tackle Warehouse Pro Circuit (then FLW Tour) win on Lake Travis in 2017 with 16 bass for 40-12. Texan Alton Jones Jr. sits in third place, 19 1/2 pounds back of Chapman with 16 bass weighing 26-10.

By MLF Communications Staff Major League Fishing will visit Raleigh, N.C. this week for its 2nd annual Heavy Hitters event. Hosted by the Greater Raleigh Sports Alliance, the tournament will showcase 40 anglers who qualified from the 2020 Bass Pro Tour season competing for more than $535,000, with a top prize of $100,000 going to the winner of the event and big-bass bonuses during the competition with payouts of $25,000, $50,000 and $100,000 being awarded for the single biggest fish in the Qualifying, Knockout and Championship rounds, respectively.

Thrift Closes Out Qualifying-Round Win

Bryan Thrift spent most of the day hunting for new locations, but the two scoreable bass he caught pushed him past the 50-pound mark for the Qualifying Round.
By MLF Communications Staff Bryan Thrift stayed atop the standings after the second day of the Qualifying Round at the 2021 REDCREST Championship at Lake Eufaula in Alabama. Despite catching only two scoreable fish on day 2, he easily won the round with a two-day total of 15 bass for 50-04.
Lake Eufaula was a bit tougher for anglers on day 2, However, quite a few anglers (including Thrift) spent most of the day practicing and searching for new areas to fish during the upcoming Knockout Round.

Bryan Thrift will take a lead of nearly 14 pounds into the second day of the Qualifying Round at the Redcrest Championship.
By MLF Communications Staff A field of the top 40 pros from the Major League Fishing Bass Pro Tour converged on Lake Eufaula in Alabama on Mndayfor the start of REDCREST 2021, the Bass Pro Tour championship. The five-day competition, which awards a top cash prize of $300,000 to the winner, is being live-streamed online and filmed for television broadcast on CBS, the Discovery Channel and the Outdoor Channel.
Bryan Thrift of Shelby, N.C. weighed in 13 bass totaling 45 pounds even to take the early lead after Day 1 of the Qualifying Round. Thrift holds a 13-14 lead over Ott DeFoe of Blaine, Tenn., who caught nine bass weighing 31-02 to land in 2nd place.
