Doesnt seem to be working right now for a variety of reasons. Its a perfect storm in part of the president s making. You have an American Population that is uninterested in seeing him, seeing the president be so divisive and racist and the views of americans seem actually the sentiment is with the protesters. You have white liberals and younger white voters in general who have very different views on this than the president. You see a softening of the president s base in older voters who are extremely concerned about the virus. If you look at michigan, the president is really under water compared to joe biden. Michiganders say they believe their state has been treated worse during the pandemic by the president. Thats not a good number for President Trump. Hes under water for a reason. He keeps going back to the same playbook, but his audience isnt there. Its shrinking. Its not working. I dont know if hes capable of being empathetic and the leader we need at this time.
