New Iberia police arrested a 14-year-old suspect Wednesday morning. Police say the teen is responsible for shooting and killing another juvenile, near Iberia Village Apartments.
The Daily Iberian has learned a 14-year-old is in custody, wanted for second-degree murder charges of a juvenile when a body was found earlier this week.
The tornado has left around 60 families displaced from their homes because of the damage, according to an early estimate from New Iberia Police Chief Todd D Albor.
Due to the recent tornados affecting areas within the City of New Iberia, Mayor Freddie DeCourt and Police Chief Todd D’Albor are implementing restrictions for the Southport Subdivision.
