that could change the balance of power. at least one current blue senate seat, the retiring nebraska democrat ben nem son they say is likely to turn red. to break it down we welcome back jennifer duffy. jennifer, thanks for joining us. great to be here. so i want to start with the guys who have been in the headlines this week. we have legitimate rape todd aakin in missouri and mr. rape is god s gift to women jeff mourdock in indiana. can they hold onto their seats given their comments? first of all, missouri has been over for a long time. it s aa red state, so the result may be closer than it deserves to be, but it s been over for a long time. as for indiana, we don t know yet. by over, you mean claire mccaskill is going to win it? yes, she gets re-elected. indiana, we don t know yet. first of all, i think that a lot of what mourdock said has been
bachmann look like a hippy. does this bring back this whole war on women narrative that s not repful to the republicans? of course it does. i have two words for todd akin. he is idiot-like. it does. it sends a message to the broader public and certainly independent voters in missouri that the republican running there is prehistoric. it brings up issues that republicans don t want to talk about right now. we want to talk about economic issues and not the issues that todd aakin keeps dragging back in. some folks came out for him in recent days saying the republican establishment needs to get behind him. there s indications they re thinking about it. if they did that, would that be a big mistake? well, it s a strategy of necessity. he s the senate slot that could bring the majority to the
haven t seen him traveling as much. what s the schedule like? recently i was in missouri and utah and new hampshire. was he with todd aakin? he was the governor. he was in iowa as well? he was for a member of congress, and he s going to travel more, especially in a lot of governors races and mitt romney as well. you know, on the surrogate front it s interesting. bill clinton is everywhere. melissa, i saw an e-mail out here. barack obama said after the debate he s meeting up with bill clinton again. who is the running mate, biden or clinton? biden is definitely the running mate. look, as the former president and as a former president two terms that the party is willing to put out there. the difference is george b. bush is a two-term president. the republican party does not have george w. bush on the trail, despite the fact that mr. romney has many bush advisers particularly in foreign
