On the Multi Commodity Exchange, gold contracts for April delivery traded higher Rs 60 or 0.09 per cent at Rs 65,541 per 10 grams in a business turnover of 16,600 lots.
International gold prices slipped from near record-high levels on Tuesday, as traders braced for key US inflation report. US gold futures also dipped 0.2 per cent to $2,185.00.
MCX will start Tuesday's trade with delay. Gold futures were up by Rs 12 and traded at Rs 62,090 per 10 grams on the MCX. Silver futures, on the other hand, witnessed a hike of Rs 40 or 0.06 per cent and traded at Rs 71,049 per kg.
