Local High School Student Selected As Girls Inc. National Scholar Friday, March 12, 2021 Sakinah Rashid Sakinah Rashid, a member of  Girls Inc. of Chattanooga and student at Tyner Academy, has been chosen as a 2021 Girls Inc. National Scholar and awarded a $20,000 Girls Inc. Lucile Miller Wright scholarship.  Ms. Rashid was selected for her outstanding academic achievements, community service work, and dedication to the Girls Inc. mission of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.  Ms. Rashid is one of 30 Girls Inc. National Scholars selected in 2021 from across the United States and Canada. Of Chattanooga Kicks Off 60th Anniversary With Unbought & Unbossed Luncheon Tuesday, March 9, 2021 For 16 years, Girls Inc. of Chattanooga has honored over 160 women in the greater Chattanooga area, who, through their community leadership and career achievements, have exemplified the Girls Inc. values of being strong, smart, and bold.  Each year 7-10 women are nominated by the community and chosen to a mentor by 7-10 high school aged girls in our Impact and SHE program.  Historically these UnBought and UnBossed women have been recognized and honored at the Annual Girls Inc. UnBought and UnBosssed Luncheon. In honor of our 60th Anniversary and our 17th Annual UnBought and UnBossed luncheon our program will look slightly different this year, said Toccora Johnson, newly appointed CEO of Girls Inc. Girls Inc. Of Chattanooga Appoints Toccora Johnson As New CEO Sunday, January 31, 2021 Toccora Johnson   Ms. Johnson has been with the organization for more than a decade, serving as senior director of program operations and most recently she stepped into the role as Interim CEO.    A native of Chattanooga, she graduated in 2009 from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with a Master’s in Public Health, Planning and Administration. In 2019, she graduated from Leadership Chattanooga and today serves on multiple United Way steering committees.      During the interim phase, Ms. Johnson underwent the formal hiring process conducted by the Board Search Committee.    Rachael Welch, board chair, said, “Throughout this hiring process, the search committee felt that Ms. Johnson demonstrated passion and vision in the Interim CEO role. She proved she could expand her connections and relationships within the
