The Clark County School Board grew by four members after new nonvoting trustees, who were appointed by local municipalities last year, were sworn in during a Tuesday special meeting.
Six weeks after he was appointed to a nonvoting role on the Clark County School Board, state and local leaders still don't agree on whether there's a problem with North Las Vegas City Councilman Isaac Barron simultaneously holding the role on the school board, a day job at the district and his council seat.
The only incumbent to be outraised by an opponent was Rep. Dina Titus, (D-NV) who saw a Republican opponent, Flemming Larsen, loan his campaign $200,000 of his own funds in the third quarter. Titus reported raising just over $122,000 in the quarter.
There are a few days left until government funding lapses, and with House Republicans yet to pass a spending bill, federal agencies are preparing to close. The last government shutdown the longest in U.S. history lasted 35 days in 2018 and 2019.
